The Institute of Childhood and Adolescence is the agency in charge of coordination of the development and monitoring process of the Barcelona Childhood Plan, which should include challenges and actions to improve the lives and rights of children and teenagers in Barcelona. This commission came after we had contributed to the development of the Children and Citizenship Focus of 2017-2020.
With its sights set on 2030, the Childhood Plan of Barcelona will incorporate a comprehensive view of childhood policies in the city to promote action and reflection regarding the main challenges that are posed in this sphere in line with international frameworks of reference and focus on rights.
The design of the Plan, which will review and incorporate the most prominent actions according to the challenges posed, will benefit from co-production with social agencies and the participation of children themselves, to subsequently carry out monitoring and evaluation.
